I was out, taking part in a survey today, near Goudhurst. Most of the time was spent scanning the skies, but at one pint I heard some movement in the strip of woodland behind me.
I was surprised, when I peered in, to see this face peering back at me. I didn't hang around, not wanting to disturb it. I thought at the time that it was a Fallow Deer, as it was quite large. Looking a the photograph, admittedly showing a half hidden deer, I can't see any spots. I know that they can be quite faded and aren't always prominent, but as I am not at all competent in identifying deer, especially with so many introductions around, I am not now 100% certain of the species.
A few minutes ago this badger turned up for a snack. I still find that the individuals can be difficult to identify. but I'm not 100% sure that I know this one. I did manage to slide the door open, so that I could take some photos with out the glass window in between the camera and subject.
