As you see it includes a donation to charity. I'm sorry to say I'll miss it because I should be on a plane heading towards New Zealand on the first night, so I hope it all goes extremely well.

I have to admit that I thought it was ambitious of the St Margaret's Players to take on two Episodes of "Fawlty Towers". I mean the characters are so well known and some devotees know the scripts off by heart. I needn't have worried, they really have pulled it off and under the direction of Lynette Morely Norris it is a fun production. The two stories aren't the best known ones, perhaps because we have so many visitors from "you know where" visit the village! I took far too many pictures as usual, and eventually they will appear on my flickr site, but below are a few to give some flavour of the action.

The set was very good and the staging done very well, reception, bedroom, dining room and kitchen scenes all need to be accommodated, and this was skilfully arranged.

The Pirates of Penzance; or, The Slave of Duty

The St Margaret's Players next Production is the Pirates of Penzance. Performances, at the Village Hall, will take pace on October 8th, 9th and 10th, starting at 7 p.m.

I went to the dress rehearsal of the St Margaret's Players production of the Pirates of Penzance. I'm not a great G&S fan, but I enjoy an occasional dose. I must say that this was an impressive production by the players. The direction was slick and tight and it the set was very good, it didn't fall into the trap of over elaboration that can happen. I have put a few pictures below to give a flavour. There will be a much fuller set on my flickr site when I've had time to get them into shape. In the meantime apologies to any one n the cast I've failed to show in a good light, hopefully you will be on one of those yet to appear.

Anything you can do, I can do better!!

Annie Get Your Gun by the St Margaret's Players had its dress rehearsal tonight, and as usual a mixture of the majority that went well and a few bits that didn't, but it will be alright on the night!

Some great songs and good performances, the audiences will be thoroughly entertained.

The play certainly isn't politically correct, too much old fashioned male pride for that, but then it was written over 60 years ago.

The gun shooting contest near the beginning sets the direction of the plot.

Buffalo Bill, Charlie Davenport and Chief Sitting Bull plot Annie's rise to fame.

The Indians, lots of good action and costumes, as Chief Sitting Bull welcomes Annie into the tribe.
