Although Greenfinches are a resident species in the area their numbers are much higher in winter with an influx of birds from northern Europe. Sometimes I get up to 40 Greenfinches in the gaden, their favourite foods being sunflower seeds and peanuts. There are fairly dominent on the feeders, only really giving way to Starlings and Great Spotted Woodpeckers.
