The village has been without a Post office for a few months now. The old one sadly had to close and the building will be converted to private use. Today was an important day for the village because the new post office opened. It is a smaller version and doesn't carry the range of goods in the shop, but it will have a pretty full range of Post Office services. I've always felt that postal services were vital for the good health of the community so today is truly a RED LETTER day!
This is a small village near Dover in Kent. My intention is to show some of the Village, its history and the wildlife I find there.

This is brilliant news. I posted a picture of our PO on Hyde Daily Photo recently. Most local suburban POs though have been closed in recent years and the own in town has queues winding almost out of the door.
In nearby Ashton-under-Lyne they closed the old PO and moved it into W.H.Smiths!
