Spring is in the air, surely not yet!

I watched a Blue Tit popping in and out of one of my nest boxes yesterday. The weather was bright but I suspect that this was nothing more than an early exploration. It isn't just the weather that triggers action of the "birds and bees " type but also the length of the day. Never-the-less I've heard of frog spawn being laid already and various species of butterflies and moths being seen already. The forecast this week is for the wind to move round to the North, so I think it will be much colder later in the week, and less windy.
