Blackbird -well almost

Blackbirds, like many birds often exhibit partial albinism. This female is really odd, the whole of the body is normal, but the tail is totally white. I found this feeding on a local bird table and the flash of white I caught in the corner of my eye before I saw it properly almost startled me. I've seen them with white heads and white patches, but this odd arrangement is a first.

There is a proper name for this condition but I have since forgotten it. We have a starling here that is almost white but and that is on my website whose address I previously gave you.
