Backward Point

This area is just behind Hope Point. Just a few things to notice. The scrub can be a great spot for birding, at the right season it often holds migrants, but it can take a lot of work to find them. Just behind to the right a number of people are demonstrating how to spoil what would otherwise be a nice walk in the countryside (golf). The footpath that runs up the hill goes by a couple of large fields. The first has the early growth of Oil Seed Rape and the top field still has round bales of straw in a stubble field. leaving the stubble is a bit of a welcome throw back to previous times and has proved attractive to a lot of birds, Linnets, Skylarks and Yellowhammers as well as others have all gathered here to feed.

Just wanted to stop by and thank you for leaving a comment on our post about the junco. Nice of you to contribute to the discussion.

I like seeing your photos of the countryside and the birds in your neck of the woods. Very nice.
