The weather is awful today, but sitting in the bay, watching the ferries on their way to Calais reminds me it's time to book a trip. There are things in the shops over there you just can't get here. If you like salsify (also called vegetable oyster) then you have to go to France to buy it, although Pam managed a good crop from the garden this year. The wine is great and about £1.50 to £2.00 cheaper for an equivalent mid price-range bottle, and if you get a few hours to go to some of the nature reserves they're fantastic too. So it's get on the WEB and find a good special offer before the tourist season arrives and fares go up.
