Taking Shape

Some of the large wooden beams for the roof of Tim and Gloria's new house are being unloaded
The house is now taking shape, but with the change of weather forecast overnight, possibly bringing an end to our lake summer will the cover still be on in the morning.
Bird News. The number of Chiffchaffs and other migrants had fallen this morning, but there seemed to have been a large influx of Meadow Pipits, and visible migration continued this morning. There was at least one Firecrest calling and occasionally showing itself in Farm Wood, but the morning birding at Bockhill was curtailed when a phone call gave the news of a Booted Eagle seen over Grove Ferry just before 11am. Unfortunately we didn't manage to connect with it.
Tawny Owls have been very actively singing around the village over the last couple of nights, but as yet I haven't manage to spotlight one in the garden.
