One that nearly got away un-noticed!

Tim Burden of Copperfield's told me of a Nightjar found trapped in his greenhouse around the 12th of September. It was found by a friend who fortunately, recorded this unique occurrence with a picture taken using his phone.

The photo shows that the bird wasn't an adult male, as this would show white patches in the wings and tips to the tail. Immature and juvenile birds, like the female lacks these white patches. My guess is that it was a young bird. The bird was released and hopefully continued on its migration.
This is the first record we have of a Nightjar on the "Bockhill Hill" local patch area, so thanks to Tim and Friend for their efforts!
