Various species come in to bathe and drink at the
Restharrow Scrape, Sandwich Bay, and the evening is a good time to see them, although the light is difficult.

I found the antics of this Curlew fun to watch. There must be many advantages when feeding of having a long beak and long legs, but for other necessities they can be difficult.

Birds, apart from Pigeons can't suck, so getting fresh water into a beak this long seemed to be quite a struggle.

It almost had to lie its head on its side to get any water to drink.

Scratching in places that itches get can also be difficult to get at with long legs.
