Having a dig

Pete and Nina took the boys to Diggerland today. Who ever had the idea giving fathers and kids the chance of a bit of male macho fantasy is an absolute brain wave.

Unlike last time Jack visited Diggerland he is now big enough to have a go solo.

Of course diggerland isn't all about the children. Many adults, including Pete, seem to enjoy having a go with the real pieces of kit. It beats watching a building site from an observation platform.

Jack looks over his shoulder to see the opposition, left way behind him, as he starts his quest to be the next Louis Hamilton.

After this I met them at Oare for a quick look at the waders. There were masses of Redshanks and Black-tailed Godwits. quite a few Knot and Ruff and a few Curlew Sandpipers, Ruff and Avocets, with a single sleepy Little Stint. Many of the waders went for a fly round when this Hobby put in an appearance.

I didn't seem to worry the Little Terns that carried on doing nothing on one of the small islands.
After sitting around for a few minutes the Hobby left as quickly as it arrived. It was an adult and the question is- was it collecting food for a breed somewhere?

Later this evening we were all treated to great views by a Badger that came a bit earlier than usually for its supper, more of that tomorrow.

There were plenty of women driving too! Also, I am clever, but photographing myself digging?
