Two Pecs on the scrape

I finally rid myself of my current sloth and decided to put my bike in my car and then to pedal down to Backsands Scrape. I hoped that I might get a few pictures of the Pectoral Sandpiper that been there for a few days. The news at the obs was good and bad. It seems that yesterday there were two, not one present on the scrape. The bad news was first the water levels meant that the birds wouldn't be very close to the hides and second that the conservation group had been working down there all morning, and would probably have flushed any waders on the scrape. I decided that as a couple of hours had passed since the working party had left it might still be worth it. In dull weather I set of, pedalling slowly, and reached the hide still in one piece, even though I had discovered that my front brake no longer functioned. The two Pectoral Sandpipers were wandering along the edge of the mud. They didn't come very close but I did manage dome record shots.

Nice photos Tony, making it easier to identify Pecs. in the future.
