Short-eared Owl Hunting

There are few more exciting birds to watch than hunting Owls. Short-eared Owls make life even easier by hunting during day light. I watched the bird below working the field opposite the Restharrow Scrape along the Ancient Highway, this afternoon as the sun was setting. The last shot is from the hide when the bird crossed the road and then spent time hunting along and behind the reeds round the scrape. It did drop on several occasions but I didn't see it catch any prey.
