Many people put out food for the birds in their gardens. Just as important is water for bathing and drinking. It also can give great entertainment when a group of Starlings arrive for a splash.Many of the Starling that are here in winter are migrants from eastern Europe and Russia. Over the last few years their numbers have drastically decreased, probable related to changes in agricultural methods.
