Trip to Clitheroe part 2

One of the birds that we saw the Dipper, and there were a few around. They love fast flowing streams and rivers where they swim under the water to catch the larvae of Mayflies and other aquatic insects. Dippers are not seen in Kent (my home county), except for a very few off course migrants, so it was good to see some even if my photo is a bit distant!

This Treecreeper, right by the river, was a bit more obliging, it took little notice of me as it searched the nooks and crannies in the bark for spiders and small insects.
