Red-letter day

A Red Kite over Bockhill this morning, provided a much needed boost to the birdwatching scene. A little later two were seen over the village. In the pictures above it has incurred the wrath of one of the local crows, that is making its' feelings felt by "mobbing" the Kite. A few Swallows were also seen, making it official, summer is on the way! Interest was also provided by a Short-eared Owl that we watched arrive. Having got to the land, it sat down in a field, its' head just visible above the growing crop, while it recovered from the exertion of flying over the channel.

'morning, Tony! Sorry I missed your Birthday; so Happy Easter! I've got some "backlit birds" today, over here on Richmond upon Thames.

Oxford; absolutely. Good race. I got the impression that Cambridge were "rowed out". There was less whooping and raving, more puffing panting and gratefulness. In which case Oxford did very well indeed. BTW...I found Panto 2007. Loks as if it was a very successful riot. Well done.
