On a Clear Day

The Church at Ringwould is about 2Km from the sea at Kingsdown and 3.4Km from the cliffs at St Margaret's where I took this photo this morning.

Ringwould once stood at the edge of a vast forest which extended almost to Canterbury. The church of St. Nicholas, is the oldest building in the village, dating from the 12th century, although it has a brick tower built in 1628. Later an onion dome turret was added which served as an aid to navigation for ships in the Channel.
