Ride'm cowpies!

I had a third attempt to find hunting Barn Owls, in the area I photographed them last winter, and again I didn't see any signs at all.

I did watch this bunch of Magpies acting like Oxpeckers riding on the backs of some cattle out on Worth Marshes. I have seen both Jackdaws, Magpies and Starling on sheep, but this is the first time I've seem a "Magpie Rodeo". As they say on the television when bad light stops play, the light is much worse than it looks in the camera. I wondered what prey the Magpies were finding, I presume that at this time of year they're not collecting hair for nests.

Flocks of several species were going over to roost, Starling, a small group of Fieldfares and several flocks of Lapwings.
