Diver-sity at Dover Harbour

After the opportunities to watch and photograph Red-throated Divers at close hand in 2009 and 2011 and a Great Northern Diver in 2011 in Dover Harbour it was good news when "Chiddy" found a Black-throated Diver in Granville Dock this weekend. As usual getting pictures on the water when the sun is bright provided a challenge and one that I didn't completely rise to. Exposure in these conditions is difficult, the white flanks of the bird often looking quite over exposed. There will be many pictures of this bird around, as a late of hardware has been pointed at it at reasonable close range. below are are few of my pictures from today.

Nice selection from yesterday Tony. As you correctly state not easy to get in that difficult light . Good to chat about "the old days." I think you have spelt "City" wrong in your title . Ha ha .
