Goldfinch

One of the more colourful of the birds coming to the garden feeders, in the winter, is the Goldfinch. They're never as numerous in the garden as Greenfinches and Chaffinches but they enjoy feeding on sunflower hearts, in the wild, thistles and teasels are their favourite foods. The males eat more teasels as their beaks are a bit longer and they find it easier to reach the seeds.

How absolutely lovely. (Right, I'm trying to imagine what he would look like from the front...)
