One Butterfly

Speckled Wood After lying about, feeling sorry for myself, yesterday I decided to get out and take a look at the world. So it's three posts and six pictures, all taken this morning. This was one of four Speckled Woods I saw today. It is a very successful butterfly in the UK, with increasing numbers and an expanding range. They are territorial and sit sunning themselves within that territory. Invariably they chase off any intruder, and almost always the owner of the territory is the winner. There are usually two broods each year.
