As I mentioned it yesterday I took a stroll over to Lighthouse Down to look at the Windmill nearby. The smock Windmill at South Foreland is surrounded by trees and is privately owned and there are no good view points of it. However, the top of it stands out and is viewable from near the Lighthouse.
A different angle of the top of the mill can be seen from one of the small "hills" made by the WWII gun sites. Judging by how windy it normally is on this part of the coast the sails would have had a lot of natural energy to drive them.
