Blue-tails emerge.

Blue-tailed Damselflies have appeared in the ponds today, Still just a few, but a good sign that the ponds are healthy.

Blue-tailed Damselfly (Ischnura elegans)

I think this is still an immature male, it lacks the sky-blue stripes on the thorax.

There were just a few sitting around, so far I haven't seen any pairing up.

This one had just emerged and could barely flutter. This stage is known as teneral. It lacks the colour of the mature insect and the wings and body are sill not fully dry and hard.
