A garden Belle

The warm weather has brought a couple of new species to the garden in the last couple of days.

Red-necked Footman (Atolmis rubricollis)

This Red-necked Footman is a woodland species with a very local distribution. I have only seen it before at Brown's Wood in Kent and in Cambridgeshire.

July Belle (Scotopteryx luridata)

A completely new species to me .the July Belle is an uncommon moth in Kent. In the last Kent moth report for 2007 there were only three reports.
